-
London because I love the way they blend modernism with classic architecture
-
Paris! My daughter lives there and it would be amazing to shop the markets in the south. Just the best city to blend old and new
-
I would be a hairdresser! I always loved doing hair when I was younger and I think the interaction and helping them with their style would be so much fun!
-
I love a kitchen. The true blend of form and function must come together in every kitchen we design. They are always challenging. The materials and cabinet detail can radically change how they fit into a home.

-
Mexico City. Having grown up there and being half Mexican, I can say that it is one of the most beautiful and inspiring cities I have ever been too. There is so much beauty in the architecture that ties into the rich culture.
-
Barcelona. I find this city to be a perfect balance of city and waterfront life. It has beautiful and inspiring architecture and its a perfect blend between historic charm and a modern, vibrant scene.
-
I would love to be a cake decorator, the idea of turning a simple cake into an edible work of art is exciting. It requires a lot of attention to detail and artistic skills and is a very hands-on profession.
-
My favourite room to design is a kitchen. For me, it’s the heart of a home and there is so much personality in a kitchen. Its also where everyone usually gathers and spends quality time together.
There are so many opportunities to make the space unique and functional and its an extensive and personal design process, and its of fun and interesting!

I really loved visiting Barcelona!
From the beautiful apartment buildings to the awe inspiring works of Gaudi, there was so much to discover. The city is great to walk around, from the bustling main streets to the quiet residential parts, there was always a great mix of culture and art to explore. I can't wait to go back!
-
Sydney, Australia. I would love to design a home here because they have such a booming design scene. So much work coming out of there is playful and daring and is so different from so much we see around here. They do a great job at incorporating vintage works with fun pops of colour inspired by their sunny climate. Due to their warm weather, they really can integrate the exterior elements into the home to create a seamless transition which we do not have the opportunity of doing here in Canada. I would love the opportunity to design a home without as many limitations.
-
I would be a gemologist. I love jewellery and I am always fascinated when people can identify gems under a microscope and know exactly what they are by their various qualities. It's amazing what beautiful things our earth makes!
-
My favourite rooms to design are powder rooms. Most people renovate once or twice in their lives and it's tough to make bold choices out of fear of getting sick of the look down the road. The one room where most clients are willing to make a bold leap is in their powder room because it's a small space to commit to and their door is often closed so relation to what is beyond it isn't a major thing to consider. Between cool wallpaper, brightly coloured tiles or fun plumbing fixtures, there is so much opportunity to go outside of one's comfort zone. "Wait until you see their powder room!"
Claudia Steele
DESIGNER
Claudia has worked at Palmerston for almost 3 years and has been in Toronto on and off since 2013.
Coming from a very multicultural background and growing up in different parts of the world, made Claudia appreciate different cultures and ways of living so much more.
Travelling is Claudia’s absolute favourite thing to do as well as walking, exploring new cities and getting inspired! It’s what inspired her to approach a career in interior design, and continue to explore more parts of the world!
